Breast Cancer is a disease that touches everyone lives. 1 out of 8 women get diagnosed with some form of breast cancer. I was diagnosed in January 2021. Here is my story…

Surgery Day - Journal Entry 3/12/21

Good morning! It’s 4:30 am CT and we are headed down to the medical center for my surgery. As a friend and fellow cancer survivor said to me, today is going to be the best day of my life! It will be the day I become cancer free!

Surgery starts at 7am and is expected to last 5 hours. Katie will provide you all an update here on Caring Bridge so stay tuned.

Feeling fierce and ready!

Thanks for all the prayers, texts, calls and creature comforts. I really feel your love! And thanks for feeding my family. It helps out so so  much!

Here’s a pic of me with my pal Laura who drove me in this week for some pre-ops, one with some of my bunco pals showing support and one of me in my FIERCE t-shirt.

You ALL are the reason

Where’ve you are – You ALL are the reason I can feel so FIERCE and FAITHFUL today!

Let’s do this! xx Susan

A Message From Katie...

Wonderful news from Alex:

…Surgeon just called. Susan is all done and surgery went very well.  The surgery ended around 1:00 but the surgeon went to another surgery before calling. She is in recovery and doing well. It will be a few more hours before we can speak to her. Thank for all your well wishes…

Our fierce warrior is on her way.
Katie
